Grade 7/8 Transition

Montroyal works closely with Handsworth Secondary to help our Grade 7 students feel prepared, welcomed and excited about their transition to Grade 8.

Throughout the school year, students and families will receive information about the transition process, course selection, secondary-school programs and available supports.

Transition opportunities may include:

• Visits and tours at Handsworth Secondary

• Opportunities to meet secondary-school staff and students

• Grade 8 course-selection information

• A parent and caregiver information evening

• Special activities designed to build familiarity and confidence

Information about important dates and upcoming transition activities will be shared directly with Grade 7 families as it becomes available.

Families with questions about their child’s transition are encouraged to contact their Grade 7 teacher or the Montroyal school office.
